Prepare to be dazzled by the hottest innovations in plastic components and finished products. The International Plastics Design Competition is one of most high-profile happenings at this June’s NPE 2009, the world’s largest plastics event.
Or, be one of the dazzlers. You are invited to show off your innovation and participate in this very unique competition.
The 2009 International Plastics Design Competition is hosted by SPI’s Alliance of Plastics Processors and is the first competition open to any product, any end-use market, and any country. There will be 11,000 sq. ft. of design space available for exhibiting innovative products at NPE 2009. This year’s competition will feature new design categories and awards—from bio-process systems, innovative packaging applications, and medical products to sustainability, nanotechnology, energy efficiency, and bio-based materials.
Commercial product entries must be production products or parts utilizing a plastic process technology. Entries must currently be in commercial production, or production molds must be ordered with commercial production to begin by December 31, 2009. Exception: Entries produced using an emerging technology such as bio-based, nanotechnology or biodegradable plastics must be in the test market stage of developments by December 31, 2009.
The competition is open to both SPI members and non-members on a sliding-scale fee beginning at $500 per entry. Multiple entries will be accepted. The competition will publish a Guide for conference attendees, the press, and the judges. There will be winners in all the design categories plus a People’s
